Try with this one and adapt to your needs:
https://github.com/OpenBW/BWAPI4J/blob/ ... ini.sample

It shouldn't make a difference, but you can also specify relative paths in bwapi.ini. E.g. just "maps/(4)Python.scx".

If you still can't get it to work please join us at #openbw on irc.freenode.net

I poked around a little but didn't get far figuring out what's causing it.
Can somebody help me with this? Thanks!

Here's what I did on a otherwise clean Ubuntu 16.04 desktop install:

1. apt-get install libsdl2-2.0-0 libsdl2-dev git vim cmake gcc make build-essential
2. the install-section from the repo: https://github.com/OpenBW/bwapi#build--install

3. copied the mpq files to the bin/ folder:
CODE:
md5sum *.mpq5c435893f2474a09ee358f43899fac8c  BrooDat.mpq6c132d84cb4758e3dc1135f0f9af74cf  Patch_rt.mpqbcfa0ce1e93245de5cfd398f0b8c5b54  StarDat.mpq
4. copied a map to maps/Python.scx

5. created a bwapi-data/bwapi.ini with the following content:
CODE:
ai = "/home/bw/bwapi/build/lib/TestAIModule.so"auto_menu = OFFcharacter_name = "test"map = "/home/bw/bwapi/build/bin/maps/Python.scx"race = "Terran"
Now my ~/bwapi/build/bin folder looks like this:
CODE:
bwapi-data/bwapi-data/bwapi.inimaps/maps/Python.scxBWAPILauncherBrooDat.mpqPatch_rt.mpqStarDat.mpq
Trying to run BWAPILauncher now, I get "Error: file_reader: failed to open  for reading".

Looks like there's a file missing, but it doesn't tell me which file? Am I missing a dependency? What am I doing wrong?

I don't know if it's worth anything, but here's a strace of ./BWAPILauncher: https://pastebin.com/qb638J2q

In fact I miss having more than one race's workers. For example you'd start off with a Nexus, 2 SCVs, a Drone and a Probe. Dafuq did they remove that mode for?

sorry for the delay replying via TL PM.
SuicidalInsanity just found his way to our IRC channel now and the functionality is being discussed. ^^

Nice initiative from you! :)

yes, the project as a whole is still very active.

The BW HD module is on hold until we see how remastered looks.
The focus has shifted towards the BW AI IDE module, where tscmoo is working on supporting BWAPI for OpenBW.
Great to hear that!!!

It retrieves the latest replays via a web service. The SSCAIT server needs to be configured to allow access for it to work.

However, we have not gotten a response so far.

At the moment we are not planning to host replays ourselves.

First of all, the MPQs contain unit data and image files. They are needed to draw unit sprites and maps.
Secondly, the fact BW is free now does not change copyrights in any way. We are probably still not allowed to host the required MPQ files ourselves.

At least we can point users to a free download of the required files now, which is a major step in the right direction.
